One Vision – One Mission.
“For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” – Proverbs 11:14
In the Backdrop of the wonderful mountain ranges of the Sahyadri that demarcate the Deccan Plateau and the Konkan coast lies the Kune Mission Center, Khandala. A serene location to distance oneself from the hustle of the city and calm down to be still and Know God as Psalms 46:10 says.
At this location reminding us about God and his handy work the leaders of the United Basel Mission Church came together in the form of Elders, Council Members and Pastors for a two-day Retreat which was held on the 17th and 18th February, 2023 with the theme, ‘One Vision – One Mission’ keeping Matthew 28: 18-19 in mind which says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This was the Sumit of the Chosen ones.
This theme was a reminder to all the leaders of the church as elders, council members and pastors to refresh the real meaning of not only being a leader in the church but also to be a The Chosen ones in the first place. Rev. Avinash Rangayya and Bro. Allan Goodwin took spirit filled and eye-opening session throughout the day with group activities and discussion also being led by them as well as the Pastors. Their Experience and their teaching gave the leaders of the UBM church a new zeal and helped them come under One Vision and One Mission that the Basel mission Churches need to have as One United Church.
With not only looking into God word and learning our spiritual exercises we also went on a trek and did some physical exercise also while learning about the word of God in the Nature. A Beautiful time of bonding and singing around the Campfire also took place as we gathered to close the Summit of the Chosen ones. However, the Sumit was not only a time of reigniting the Mission and Vision of the Basel Mission church but also to honour the leaders of the church who have been dedicatedly working for the better of the church throughout the past years.
