The journey started in 1991 with a dream and Lord God our heavenly father fulfilled the long cherished dream in his time. There was a vision of an IDEAL CHURCH with the presbytery, building committee pioneer members Mr. John W. Soans (convenor) along with Mr. Sydney Marcus & Mr. C. C. Amanna and congregation members of the U.B.M Church Vikhroli.

Finally, after years of waiting we had U.B.M Christa Preethi Church at Bhandup an arm of the United Basel Mission Church Mumbai, which is derived from earlier church U.B.M Vikhroli. During the time of Rev. L. L. Alva the pastor-in-charge and Pastor Samson Balmi, Rt. Rev. Dr. J. S. Sadananda Bishop CSI Karnataka Southern Diocese, Mangalore dedicated the church on 22nd January 2012.

After 22nd Jan 2012 the Vikhroli Church Congregation split into two to facilitate worshippers to participate in worship service, Sunday school & other activities as Vikhroli and Bhandup with the same unity , The new place of worship in Bhandup became convenient for the members residing from Mangatram Petrol Pump to Mulund CheckNaka – Mulund (East & West) , Bhandup (East & West). The Bhandup centre was under Vikhroli Church Presbytery until 2014. As per the Council permission, U.B.M. Christa Preethi Church had its own presbytery by election according to the U.B.M Church constitution in the year 2014. 5 elders & 3 Council members were installed on 27th April 2014.
