Navi Mumbai was initially part of the Chembur Church. However due to the travelling distance and inconvenience some of the members initiated to have a church in Navi Mumbai. The Navi Mumbai Church started on 10th July, 1988 with Rev. I D Soans serving as pastor in charge and Mr. Godwin Karkada as first elder. As Mr. Godwin Karkada was shifting to other state, eldership responsibilities was given to Mr. David Bangera.
In the initial years, Church service was conducted two times in a month in a School. In 2009, Rev. Krupakiran was appointed as pastor in-charge of Navi Mumbai after which Navi Mumbai was separated from Chembur and made an individual Church. Navi Mumbai Church service was held in different school’s during these years. In the year 2010, first presbytery meeting was held.
In the year 2013, During the service of Rev. Prakesh Gurusiddappa 25th anniversary was celebrated at Kannada sang, Vashi. On 5th April, 2015 Navi Mumbai Church was inaugurated and dedication service was held. Navi Mumbai Church was then named UBM Shalom Church, Navi Mumbai.

DEPARTMENTS
Women’s fellowship started in the year 2012 as there was no church building, it used to be conducted in Mrs. Felica Karkada house for nearly 5 years. Later the women used to gather in the church every 2nd and 4th Saturday. Now we have Womens Fellowship every 2nd And 4 th Sunday after the Divine service itself in the church premises.
Youth Fellowship started in the year 2012 and Youth Fellowship members adopted the name ‘O.A.S.I.S’ Which Means One Awesome Saviour is Sufficient. The Youth Fellowship members meet every last Sunday of the Month after the Divine Service.
The Men’s Fellowship has been instrumental in encouraging regular Bible Study, being a support to Mission, doing various programs and in little outreach activities through Christmas celebration in the Haware-Centurion Mall premises where the Church is located.
The Men’s Fellowship meet every 2 nd and 4 th Sunday of the month after the divine service as well.
The children will grow up knowing the importance of God and his word in their life and every child accepts Christ as their personal saviour and has a fulfilling relationship in him. (Proverbs 22:6) Currently we have about 20 children and 3 teachers led by Mrs. Shiney Bangera the Secretary for the Sunday School department. The Sunday School meets every Sunday after the divine service.
Prayer is a very important aspect in the UBM Shalom Church, Navi Mumbai. Therefore we pay close attention to the prayer needs of our congregation. A Prayer box and book is placed in the church for people to put in their prayer requests for which the Prayer team meets every month to intercede and pray for. Intercessory Prayer is held Every 2 nd Monday of the Month in the Church from 7pm onwards.
The Shalom Church has the first of its kind Worship team led by Pastor Ian Aiman. Where members of different age groups come together and lead the Praise and Worship in the divine service. The team comprises of nearly 20 members from all age groups who have a zeal for worshiping with spirit and truth. The Worship Team practice takes place every Saturday at 6.00pm
The UBM Shalom Church has also embarked on its very own House Church meetings which started on 26 th April, 2023 in an attempt to help with ministering to the residence of Taloja and Panvel. The House Church currently is held every 4 th Sunday of the Month at 6.00pm at a residence of Mrs. Mohini Kundert in Panvel.
