SPECTRA drawn from the word Spectrum, is the distribution of colors produced when white light is dispersed by a prism. Similarly, “SPECTRA-2024” was an ‘Inter-Church Sunday School’ event, organized by the U.B.M. Church Council, Sunday School Department, to provide a platform for the upcoming generation to not only identify and garner their God given gifts and talents but also to help them diversify and utilize the same in serving God under one roof. Also, its purpose was to enhance fellowship within the respective churches and celebrate the joy of togetherness amongst fellow churches, while providing young children with a platform to discover, hone and exhibit their God-given talents.
We believed that participating in this event not only helped the children discover their own hidden talents and potential but also enabled them to imbibe the desire and confidence to polish their skills in time as well as appreciate and applaud the skills of others.
After a gap of almost 9 Years (2015), SPECTRA-2024 was held on Saturday 7th September, 2024 to Sunday 8th September, 2024 at the U.B.M. Sushanthi Church, Byculla. There was an over-all participation of over 260 Children, who were divided into 5 Age Groups and who participated in both Individual and Group Events, organized in 6 different Venues within the premises. The Event began on a grand note, with an inaugural Alpha March, which had representatives from each Church carry the Church name plaques and assigned Church Flags and marching to the selected Church Anthems. The Inauguration was graced by the Council Office Bearers who encouraged and motivated all the contestants with their presence and inspiring words. There were over 8 Individual Competitions and 5 Group Competitions, under which the contestants participated, such as singing, instrumental, art, mono-act, choreography, skit and so on.
The Prize distribution was an exciting moment for both the achievers as well as others, who applauded with all their heart. Children received Individual Trophies for their solo presentations and Groups received Team Trophies and Certificates. The Over-all Team Champions for SPECTRA-2024, were as follows: 1st Place – U.B.M. Christa Karunya Church, Dombivili; 2nd Place – U.B.M. Christha Shanthi Church, Marol and 3rd Place – U.B.M. Bethel Church, Ambernath.
We would like to thank God Almighty for enabling us to successfully complete SPECTRA-2024. We would also like to extend our thanks to the enthusiastic and wholehearted support given by the Pastor, all Church Presbyteries and Council Members, Council Office Bearers, the Participants, Parents, Sunday School Teachers, Church Volunteers, Congregation Members, Spectra Volunteers and all those who supported and extended their timely support. May God bless each one, for being a part and helping to enhance the U.B.M. Church fellowship and also being a part in extending the Kingdom of God.
